About Wesley D Petzer

From the farm and the field to the market.

South African-born and Netherlands-based, Wesley connects cultivation systems, agricultural economics, market transition and commercial strategy.

The perspective

Crop, channel, relationship and economics belong in the same conversation.

Wesley grew up in a farming environment in South Africa, where agriculture was practical long before it became academic.

His route through the University of Pretoria began at its Mamelodi campus and led to a BSc in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Business Management. That mix of plant and soil systems, agricultural markets, finance and trade still shapes his approach: cultivation decisions are also operational and commercial decisions.

His cannabis career began hands-on through outdoor living-soil cultivation, propagation, genetics and practical grower support. He later moved into African market development, compliance and traceability with Cannavigia, before relocating to the Netherlands and returning closer to the plant through international cultivation and commercial work with Atami.

Petzer Consulting brings those layers together: cultivation systems, market transition and commercial strategy grounded in how growers, channels and markets actually work. The approach is independent, evidence-led and deliberately practical.

Working principles

01

Evidence before claims

Method, context and limitations stay with the conclusion.

02

Local before generic

Global thinking must survive local channels, people and economics.

03

Relationships with purpose

The right introduction is valuable only when the fit and next action are clear.

04

Execution stays visible

A strategy includes ownership, evidence gates and a learning rhythm.

Work with Wesley

Start with the market decision that cannot stay vague.
